From 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, Winterland is back, with a big new feature this year: for the first time, the event stretches between Locarno and Ascona, bringing the two towns together in one great winter experience. Two towns, one destination, with lights, ice, music, food, shows and events.

Winterland Ascona: new for 2026

Ascona becomes a magical winter destination, where the charm of the old town and the lake meets lights, ice and great food.

• 600-metre ice promenade: a unique chance to skate right along the lakefront

• Lake Dome in Piazza Torre: a transparent structure 20 metres in diameter that becomes Ascona's living room for events, get-togethers and food

• Artistic lighting of around 30 buildings in the old town, creating a spectacular trail of lights

• Music, entertainment and street food, on top of the winter events already on Ascona's calendar

Winterland Locarno

The winter village that delights young and old every year returns to Piazza Grande: the ice rink, the Christmas market, the food chalets, activities for children, live concerts and light projections that turn the city into a true theatre of light and wonder.
